Andrew Chumbley understood the Horse Tradition.
The shamanic horse features on his books including in his most famous text the Azoetia.
This is because it is a key icon and is understand to have deep roots.
This is seen around the country including in Cornwall where there is a Padstow Oss and also in Wales in the Mari Lwyd Tradition.
Horse Dance
The horse is danced aound the winter solstice. It is understood to go back to the Cornovii which were a native British tribe in Roman times.
